Asalku, meaning heritage, grasps the essence of this collection of songs composed by Gerard Tahitu. They were captured as they first came to life — raw, unpolished living-room recordings. One day they may be shaped into fuller, more refined recordings with new music added along the way.

Each song is an offering: a tribute to love, to the shared struggles, strengths and stories that shape our human experience, and to the nearly forgotten cultural heritage of Maluku.
